Catholic Services Appeal 2010

 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

             It is so gratifying for me to know of your support of our Catholic Services Appeal.  This past year, more of you participated than ever.  You did this despite the economic challenges we are facing.  Some of you told me it was just not possible to contribute financially, but nevertheless gave your support through prayers and the offer of time and talent.   Thank you for your generosity in sharing in the mission of our Church in Northern Nevada.

             The theme for this year’s appeal is “The Miracle of Sharing: 5 Loaves and 2 Fish”.  It recalls the story in the Gospel of Luke of how Jesus fed the multitude.  The apostles did not think they had enough food to share with the large crowd but the Lord provided.  Sometimes we may wonder how we can face overwhelming needs with limited resources.  Yet when we share what we have, somehow through God’s grace we manage.

             What you share through the CSA provides for a number of needs: the faith formation of children, youth and adults, the preparation for ministry both lay and ordained, evangelization, assistance to people in need, and help to our rural parishes.  These are just some of the services your contribution provides.  Your donation is a gift restricted to the services that are listed in this brochure.  Thank you for sharing.
